Bentley Torcal: first luxury EV set for September reveal

Finally, even the super-rich can silently glide around without feeling guilty about emissions. Bentley, the luxury four-wheel titan, has decided to jump into the electric fray. The company confirmed its first electric vehicle, the Torcal, will be officially unveiled in late September.

About time, you might say, or perhaps: who cares? The high-end EV market isn't just a niche for Tesla and Porsche anymore. Everyone, from Mercedes to BMW, now offers their "green" proposal with a price tag that makes your head spin. Bentley certainly couldn't just stand by, risking looking a bit anachronistic with its twelve-cylinder engines. Gotta keep up, right?

For now, very little. Bentley has only given us some cryptic "teasers," those dark, mysterious images that show almost nothing. We know the name, Torcal, which apparently evokes a nature reserve in Spain. Quite a contrast between the brand's opulence and wild nature, don't you think? Bentley has officially named its first EV "Torcal", with the unveiling scheduled for late September.

Naturally, we expect maximum luxury and performance, as is Bentley's tradition. It will probably have enough range to cover the distance between a villa on the French Riviera and a yacht in Monaco. It'll be fast, silent, and incredibly expensive. Just another sign that the future is electric, even for those with six-figure bank accounts.
