AI use: Do we all have a 'serious work' AI and a 'just vibing' AI?

Yes, it seems we've developed a kind of digital double personality. On one side, there's the serious AI, the one we use for help with emails, summaries, or the code for our next project. On the other, there's the "just vibing" AI, assisting us in creating absurd images, writing quirky poems, or simply chatting without a real purpose.

When did this happen? Probably while we were all too busy asking ChatGPT to write those tedious emails. OpenAI launched ChatGPT in November 2022, making conversational AI available to millions of users. From there, the line between useful and fun AI began to blur, or rather, to double.

We use AI in different ways because, well, we're humans and we're complicated. We need efficiency, but also creative outlets or a good laugh. The same technology that saves us hours of work can also generate a perfect meme for the group chat, right?

This dualism reflects our daily needs. Tools like Midjourney were born for pure creativity, while others have evolved to cover both aspects. Google released its chatbot Bard, now Gemini, in March 2023, offering an alternative for creative and informational tasks.

We often manage our "dual" AIs almost unconsciously. Maybe we use a different browser for work and another for casual exploration. Or we simply switch tone and expectations depending on the request, transforming our digital assistant from secretary to playmate in an instant.

It's not about having two physical AIs, but two "modes" of interaction that we've learned to master. It's a bit like having an outfit for the office and one for the weekend. The AI adapts, or rather, we adapt it to the many facets of our digital lives.
