LangChain: The AI Framework Everyone Hates (But Secretly Uses)

LangChain is the Python framework that lets you plug LLMs (GPT, Claude, Llama) into the real world—connect them to your data, tools, databases, and build complex AI agents. Think ChatGPT, except it can actually Google things, read your PDFs, query your database, and call your APIs.

Why do you hate it? Because the docs are a mess, the examples are ancient, and the API changes every two weeks. Update the package and something breaks. Guaranteed.

Why do you use it anyway? Because it's the only mature framework that actually does everything: RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), memory management, agent reasoning, tool calling, streaming, prompt handling. You don't have to build it all from scratch.

What's it actually good for? Corporate chatbots that tap into internal databases. Document analysis assistants. Agents that book meetings or draft emails. Basically anything that needs an LLM plus some actual logic attached to it.

What else is out there? LlamaIndex if you want something simpler (but less flexible). Haystack. Or build it yourself (have fun with that). But for speed of development, LangChain is still the heavyweight champ.
