Superintelligence is coming soon (but your job is safe, promise)

A prospect that would worry anyone, except for the detail he quickly adds: yes, superintelligence is coming, but it won't be the thing that triggers economic chaos.

The reasoning is simple (almost suspiciously so): according to Suleyman, the real risk isn't AI stealing jobs, but how we decide to use it. It's the old knife analogy — the same tool that cuts bread can hurt you, it depends on who's wielding it. Among the topics covered are model training, how Microsoft is preparing its AI strategy, and the race toward AGI (artificial general intelligence, basically an AI as generally smart as a human).

Here's where it gets interesting: Suleyman isn't saying that automation won't change the job market. He's saying it won't be an apocalyptic bloodbath. AI is the next chapter of the same story, just faster and more visible.

Suleyman has skin in the game (he works for Microsoft, which is betting billions on OpenAI), so take his words with the same grain of salt you'd use for any corporate announcement.
