Llama 3.2 in Vietnamese: the new model that speaks your language

The model phong3103/Llama-3.2-8B-vi-a100-2ep is basically a fine-tuned version of Meta's Llama 3.2 with 8 billion parameters, streamlined and trained specifically to understand and generate Vietnamese text. The technical name vi-a100-2ep means: trained on NVIDIA A100 GPUs (those beefy servers) for two epochs—meaning it saw the data twice to learn better.

Why should you care? Because until recently, the most popular AI models were basically English-only machines. If you spoke Vietnamese, Chinese, Portuguese, or literally any non-English language, the results were... generous in glossing over the carnage.
