India Renewables: summer record, coal struggles

India, an energy giant and the world's third-largest CO2 emitter, is seriously investing in solar and wind to power its development. This isn't just greenwashing; it's an economic and strategic necessity for a country with constantly growing energy demand.

The share of renewable energy in India's electricity mix hit a record high in the summer of 2026. This data highlights how clean energy is becoming a backbone for the Asian nation. Quite a shift, wouldn't you say?

While overall energy demand has risen, traditional sources like coal haven't kept pace. Their growth has practically stalled, making way for new technologies. Who would've thought coal could "flatline"?
